Thats a great start Walter those plastic bags are nasty and hardly ever end up in the right place once people get rid of them. If you don’t mind could you tell me where you got your reusable bags? Thanks for sharing with us!

You’re absolutely right and I think it’s a great step in the right direction. If everyone started doing steps like these and any of the many others. We could put a dent in this thing as citizens. Big business is who I think will give us a big bang for the buck when it comes to changing the ways they waste

I’m glad you expressed that the things you’ve done don’t feel like a chore that is something I wish everyone knew when it comes to going green the things you do don’t have to and usually don’t feel like a burden. In fact they can save you a good amount of money, time and health problems.

Well as Green Home Improvements said, I too do not want to leave you an article as a comment LOL - so I will just name a few things:
- Recycle religiously!
- Compost all food scraps, etc
- Stopped using plastic containers and bottles (no more bottled water too)
- Carry reusable bags on every shopping trip
- Keep the furnace/AC at lower levels
- Eat more fresh produce and buy as little packaged food as possible
- and the list goes on…

I love doing this stuff and the best part is that it feels so good and normal. It does not feel like a chore at all, I believe everyone can feel like that too, it is all up to what one decides in their mindset! We take care of our houses since we inhabit them, why should we not do the same for our planet which we too inhabit!

I’ll run out of room if I leave a complete list but here are a few changes: light bulbs, organic fertilizer, solar outdoors light, green shopping totes, fax by e-mail (saves trees and toner), recycle, gardening, energy efficient doors and windows.

I been trying to change my lifestyle. I recently purchased a compost bin and been throwing anything organic into it. But one of the easiest way to go green is to drive less. If you need to drive do it all at once. Go to more convenient locations where everything can be done at once. This saves our ozone and keeps the air clean.

Going green is an important crisis facing the world today. I have just begun carpooling and cutting down on trips. This does not sound like much…. but if each person in the US would cut driving down by 20% or more look at the benifits produced. Better air quality, Reduced wasteful byproduct such as radiater coolet, used oil, brake fluid and batteries. This would lower gas prices and save the enviroment.
