On May 10th, 2008 at 18:00 GMT the Pangea Day project will go live across the world with events in Cairo, Kigali, London, Los Angeles, Mumbai, and Rio de Janeiro bringing together a mixture of 24 powerful short films, live music and speakers to help the world connect with each other. Pangea Day hopes to overcome borders and differences that todays world has develop while building bridges and letting you see yourself in others all around the world through the power of film. Pangea Day project grew from Jehane Noujaim’s TED Prize wish in 2006 and ended up attracting around 2,500 short film entries. This Pangea Day event is available to broadcast by any and all tv stations completely free of charge and while many have picked up the rights to show it I hope that more will. The 4 hour event will also be shown over the internet which is where I will most likely be watching it unfold and I hope that any of you who won’t make it to an event will be watching on the internet as I will. After all the whole idea behind Pangea Day is to bring the world together through film so that bridges can be formed and people can learn how others live.

I am interested in creating a live chatroom on Meebo during this event so that we can interact while we watch. Are you interested in watching with me?
