In case you hadn’t noticed the brief, but longer then expected downtime last week. We have moved from a good friends web hosting company to Aiso.net a 100% solar powered eco-friendly web hosting company. The move went pretty flawlessly there has been quite a bit of learning to function with out certain geeky tools like shell access which I was accustomed to and now no longer have, but I’m coping and learning to get over that quickly. Aiso.net has offered amazing support to me as I’ve ran into a few kinks with there system of doing things. Much to my surprise every time I’ve called I’ve been greeted cheerfully by the front office and have been assisted quickly by the CEO of Aiso.net Phil Nial. I’m ecstatic to be with this company for its earth friendly way of operating and it’s amazing customer service to boost. I highly suggest Aiso.net for any of you eco-friendly webmasters or bloggers out there.

I can’t wait for more companies to follow in their footsteps. It is possible to be green and profitable.

Jason,
This is one area that I have not thought to much about but it really should be energy drain that we all talk about as we are doing our hardest to get more people that are around us to use the web and participate in all of it’s glory. Good for you making the change to full solar powered hosting. i am going to look at it more closely and make it part of plan in 2008. I am going to be following up with you to find out how it’s coming with Aiso.net when I’m rady to make the move.

@ Justin:
Hey Justin,
It’s not something many people think about when it comes to a “green plan”, but now a days with more and more of our applications and storage go online it’s something that should be looked into. I’m glad you’ll be looking into it and putting it into First Global Xpress’s plan for 2008. I’ll be here when you’re ready to talk more about it.
