Whats the deal? Why is it that here in America we have such a bad taste in our mouth about diesel powered cars? Because of our “dieselphobia” we’re loosing out on some very fuel efficient vehicles. For example we only have a 50/50 chance that we’ll receive the new VW Golf TDI Hybrid which would be a crying shame. Volkswagen has done some great things with this little concept car like 69.9 miles per gallon while cutting emissions down to below the Honda Civic Hybrid and the almighty Toyota Prius. Will it be built? The experts are all saying yes it will be, but will it be sent to the US? Most of them think not. The reason being the UK loves diesel because of the very high price of gasoline and the higher mileage diesels can obtain while the US still remembers diesels as the stinky smokey cars they once were. I sure hope we get over this quickly as it could lead to some healthy competition in the green highest MPG race.VW Golf TDISource: Wired

dave: With gas prices going in a very bad direction right now WVO (waste vegetable oil) is an absolutely awesome option for diesel vehicles. I have a friend who got a local asian food restaurant to sign off on giving him X amount of oil a month before he even bought his vehicle. They options are out there you just have to ask. Thanks for contributing Dave I hope to see more of you around here.
