What a great name for a project and fitting too.  E. O. Wilson a winner of the TED Prize had a chance to stand in front of some of the greatest minds in the world and make a wish.  The wish he made was for the creation of the Encyclopedia of Life a collection of every organism alive on earth to be recorded, organized and the information made available for anyone to access it via the internet.  The first release of this project debuted online February 27th 2008.  It is absolutely amazing to have so many creatures both microscopic and gigantic at your fingertips.  This projects purpose is quite ambitious as it has set out to organize and make available on the internet all information of life on Earth now.  What a great tool for teaching yourself and others of just what exists around you in our huge world.  Thank you E. O. Wilson and the great people who have donated money, time and knowledge for sharing such a project.Site: Encyclopedia of LifeThe video of TED Prize speech and wish of Edward O. Wilson
