Coca-Cola got a bit more earth friendly.

Starting back in 2003 Coca-Cola has been testing hybrid delivery vehicles along side truck manufacturer Eaton. The testing phase was a success for both Coca-Cola and Eaton. Coca-Cola found that the new trucks would decrease there normal trucks emissions by about 32% and increase fuel economy by about 37%. These findings led to Coca-Cola placing a large order of 120 hybrid delivery trucks powered by Eaton’s hybrid drivetrain systems for 2008. Hybrid Coca-Cola Truck Source: Eaton

That’s pretty cool. I wonder what the lifespan of those trucks is though?

Great question Buck. I checked out the Eaton website and according to them the average lifespan of a vehicle in this line of work is around 12 years and at that 12 year mark it should save the company around $69,000 because of fuel efficiency. Coca-Cola also reports maintenance costs are lower on these new hybrid trucks.
